My wife is from Italy and has never really liked pizza in the US. I am from Chicago and have had all types of American style pizza. Cafe Milano is the best authentic Italian pizza we have ever had. Even our 4 year old daughter said that the pizza was just like in Italy. When you go into a pizza place and half the people are speaking Italian it's a good sign! I haven't been in awhile, mainly because DH and I tend to go a few blocks down Fort Harrison to Cristino's--the pizza there is also very good PLUS their gelato is wonderful. But definitely, Cafe Milano makes a great pizza pie. I agree that the pizza here is really good. The tomato sauce was very good, not sweet, but almost had a fruitiness, and the cheese was fantastic. SO ordered "pizza alla ricotta" which was Tomato Sauce, Mozzarella, Ricotta Cheese and Fresh Basil and Oregano. ($8.95) The wrong pizza was brought out first, so she figured she'd just eat what they gave her.(I don't know why she doesn't speak up, but oh well) The pizza she got had Tallegio cheese, which she didn't care for, but that was personal opinion. So i eventually convinced her to speak up and get the right pizza, which they did with no complaints. And she very much enjoyed the pizza alla ricotta. The kids split a calzone which was tomato sauce, mozzarella, prosciutto. ($10.95) The calzone was also very good. Overall the dinner was very good, and I'll definitely be going back. The ingredients are all VERY high quality, and it definitely shows when eating. This is my first "review" so if I forgot anything, please let me know.
